What to expect

Tuscan Springs Hotel & Spa is a 16-room hotel on Club Circle Drive, on the east side of Desert Hot Springs. Owners Camelia and Cornel Chioibasu met in Italy more than 30 years ago and built the hotel as a nod to the Tuscan countryside. Rooms have Italian decor, ceramic tile floors, armoires and French doors onto the garden. It is a family-run place, and recent guest reviews on booking sites in early 2026 describe it as clean and calm, if a little dated.

The draw is the water. Like most hotels in Desert Hot Springs, Tuscan Springs pumps its own hot mineral water from the aquifer under the city. The hotel’s well is 350 feet deep, and the water arrives at 117°F47°C. It fills all the pools, which are held at different temperatures.

The hotel describes its terraces as having panoramic mountain and city views. The hotel also has a lounge with snacks, an included continental breakfast with a waffle iron, and a five-room spa called La Bella Spa.

The pools

• Mineral swimming pool. A large pool filled with well water, kept cooler for swimming.
• Two mineral jacuzzis. Smaller, hotter pools for soaking.
• Dry sauna. Included with a day pass.

The hotel does not publish exact pool temperatures, so they are not listed here. Expect the jacuzzis to be noticeably hotter than the pool.

Prices and booking

Day spa. The hotel lets outside guests use the pools and the dry sauna for $50 per person for four hours. Its website gives day spa hours of 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or starting from 8 a.m. if you have a treatment booked. A May 2026 Visit Greater Palm Springs roundup lists the same $50 for four hours, but with hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday to Sunday only, by reservation. Because the two sources differ, call (760) 251-0189 before you drive out.

Free pool use with a treatment. Book any treatment at La Bella Spa and pool use is included. The website lists most massages at $130 for 60 minutes, $190 for 90 minutes and $240 for 120 minutes. A couples massage is $260 for an hour. Reflexology starts at $75 for 30 minutes. The site also offers facials, body wraps, scrubs and add-ons. The website was last updated in early 2024, so treat these as a guide.

Rooms and packages. Every room has a king bed or two full beds, a travertine tub and shower, a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge and a private terrace. Rooms are capped at two guests, apart from one garden room that takes four for an extra charge. Overnight packages bundle a night’s stay with massages, wraps, facials, wine and chocolates. Packages must be booked directly with the hotel by phone or on tuscansprings.com before you arrive. They cannot be added to bookings made through other websites. Booking sites list check-in from 3 to 9 p.m.

Rules and etiquette

• 21 and over only. The hotel cites its beverage licence.
• Swimsuits. This is not a clothing-optional hotel.
• Two guests per room. The cap is there to keep the grounds quiet.
• Book packages direct. Third-party bookings cannot be changed to packages at check-in.
• Spa appointments for package guests must be set before check-in.

Getting there

From I-10, take the Palm Drive exit and drive north into Desert Hot Springs. Then head east across town and follow your map to 68187 Club Circle Drive. Free self-parking is on site, according to booking listings.

Palm Springs International Airport is the nearest airport. Downtown Palm Springs is roughly half an hour’s drive away.

When to go

November to April brings warm days and cool nights, the best conditions for a hot soak. In summer, afternoon highs often go above 100°F38°C, so plan to soak early or late and spend midday in the shade. Weekends are busiest, and day passes may sell out or be limited when the hotel is full. Weekdays usually give you a quieter pool.

Where to stay nearby

Tuscan Springs is itself a hotel, so most visitors stay here. Desert Hot Springs has many other small mineral water hotels. Safety notes

• Heat: Hot mineral jacuzzis and desert sun add up quickly. Take short soaks, drink plenty of water, and get out if you feel lightheaded.
• Alcohol: If you drink at the pool, keep your hot tub sessions short.
• Wet surfaces: Tile around the pools can be slippery, so walk carefully.
• Summer: Shade is limited at midday in July and August. Bring a hat and sunscreen.
